The Work of Kate McGraw

Studio Practice

Kate’s studio practice spans drawing, painting, mixed media and installation. Her work explores pattern, repetition, abstraction, color, light and the transformation of physical environments.

Individual works can operate independently, while larger installations allow artwork to extend beyond conventional boundaries — moving across walls and architectural surfaces to transform the viewer’s experience of a space.

Her work has been characterized by an intersection of abstraction, pattern, meditative repetition and unexpected visual relationships.
